Correct R5 and RU4 land-use tables

Permit beekeeping, animal boarding and veterinary hospitals in R5, and secondary dwellings and dual occupancies in RU4.

What is the issue?

Several land uses that are appropriate to large-lot residential or rural land are omitted from the proposed R5 and RU4 land-use tables.

Why does WUFA disagree?

The omissions produce outcomes that are inconsistent with comparable zones and with the physical and operational characteristics of the deferred lands.

Key points

  • Add beekeeping to R5.
  • Add animal boarding or training establishments to R5.
  • Add veterinary hospitals to R5.
  • Permit secondary dwellings and dual occupancies in RU4.

WUFA recommendation

Amend the R5 and RU4 land-use tables to include the identified appropriate uses and align them with comparable Northern Beaches zones.
